happy 15 months

Abigail turned 15 months yesterday! She had her checkup at the doctor's today and she's doing great! She is still in the 80th percentile on her height and weight. She's 25 1/2 pounds. She is a bundle to carry around! She's is so curious and doesn't miss a thing! She is quite a little talker and is talking a lot with sign language too. She has even learned how to sign "thank you." It is precious!! Here are a few pictures from this week.

She enjoys going for walks in the stroller and exploring outside

She loves books!
She spends a lot of time going through her book basket

She had her first visit to Chuck E. Cheese.
I think it was stimulus overload :)

trick or treat

We had a fun halloween with our little love bug :) We visited a couple of friend's houses and went to a fall festival at a nearby church. Abigail's costume was not really conducive to changing a diaper so we had to get everything in and get back home in time for a diaper change :) She did great in her costume and had lots of fun visiting everyone. Thankfully she's not aware of what candy is at this stage of her young life. She did get some Gerber yogurt puffs as a treat and that just made her night!

Abigail will turn 15 months next week! She's getting so close to walking. She has officially taken her first step. She sat right down afterwards though and we haven't been able to get her to do it again. She loves to push her walker around the apartment and she is getting fast! Here is a picture of her standing on her own.

lollipop

Abigail is getting better on our road trips to Lubbock. It is usually about a 5 hour drive. Last weekend she slept for a couple of hours and was content most of the time in the car. On the way back though she was ready go get out of that carseat by the end of the trip! I had gone through everything (snacks, movie, toys, books, music) and it was no longer working. I remembered that I had a lollipop in my purse that the sweet lady at the bank drive-up window had given Abigail several days earlier. I thought that it would distract her for the last part of the trip. So, Abigail had her first lollipop. She wasn't sure about it at first but she figured it out pretty fast. She loved it and by the time she finished there was blue sticky all over her face, clothes, and the carseat. Not to mention goldfish and graham cracker crumbs too :) Needless to say the carseat needed a good cleaning after we got home!

hat

Too cute!!

I searched for a cute, affordable hat and mitten set for Abigail. It seemed that the cute ones were too expensive and the affordable ones just weren't cute enough for this girl. So, I decided to make her one myself. The fleece was on sale for 60% off so I only spent a couple of dollars for a whole yard. I made some mittens to go with the hat but she cries when I put them on her so I don't think they will get much use this winter :) I still have quite a bit of fleece leftover so I'm sure I will find some way to use it.

phone

Well, at the age of 14 months Abigail owns her own cell phone. She has always been interested in our phones and loves to get her hands on them whenever she can. This week she called a couple of people on my phone so we decided that she needed her own. We had an old one that we gave to her and it is has become her most treasured possession :) She won't put it down and today she even took a nap with it in her hand! This could mean trouble. Here she is sending a text.

She is concentrating so hard! It cracks me up!
(Don't you just want to squeeze that chubby little bod!)

fall pictures and more

I took a few pictures of Abigail this week at the home of her music teacher. We have started a Kindermusik class once a week and it so much fun! Her teacher, Mrs. Jeanie, has beautiful fall decorations in front of her house and she allowed us to use them for a little photo shoot. Where is Sarah when I need her?! :) I got lots of pictures but unfortunately Abigail wouldn't look at me for most of them. Here are a few and some other photos from this week too.

Teeth! Abigail's top two teeth are finally coming in. Here's a shot of her laughing at her daddy.

tent

Abigail loves to crawl on and through things. We often find her under tables or crawling through the legs of chairs. We have decided that she will definitely need a tent for Christmas! In the meantime I made her a homeade one with chairs and a bed sheet. She loved it! Josh and I both have lots of great memories of making homeade tents when we were growing up. I hope the tradition will continue with Abigail :)

Here she is having a snack in her tent.
I promise that my child does wear pants :) It seems like most of the pictures I take of her around the house are of her in a diaper.
